Faith and the Power

My curiosity was so aroused that I said, "My friend, I'm interested to see you reading marked places in the Bible, and apparently doing it with some sort of system. I happen to be a pastor, and if it isn't being nosy, would appreciate knowing if you employ some special method in Bible reading."

"You say you are a pastor. May I ask your name?" When I told him he said, "I thought I'd seen you somewhere. You spoke at my industry convention once. If my method can be helpful to someone else, certainly I will be glad to share it, but I don't want any particular credit for it." I promised not to use his name if I ever told about our conversation.

METHOD FOR USING THE POWER IN CRISIS "I happen to be facing a crisis at this time," went on my seatmate. "Just what it is is irrelevant, but to get ready for it my mind must be working at maximum, so I follow a five-point procedure. First, I sharpen my mind by reading St. Paul. In my opinion, next to Jesus, his was the keenest mind in history. So I read St. Paul to sharpen my mind on his, as a farmer whets a scythe on a grindstone."

In facing the upcoming crisis I need faith as well as the ability to think coherently.
